What is CouplerTec?
CouplerTec is a computerized, fully programmable, self diagnostic electronic rustproofing device designed to prevent or reduce rust, oxidization and corrosion on your vehicle. The system runs off your vehicles battery and uses less than 30 milliamps.
Originally developed in the USA in 1986, Capacitive Coupling Technology has proven to be the only effective method of electronically stopping rust in motor vehicles. Now this technology has been advanced to become the worlds first Computerised Electronic Rust Proofing System that has an inbuilt Battery Conditioner (The Battery Doctor).

Rust or Corrosion is an Electrochemical reaction and that is why it is possible to control it electronically. CouplerTec uses a unique process called “Capacitive Coupling” to build a negative surface charge on all metal body parts. This negative surface charge and its corresponding electrostatic field create an “electrical double layer” which in turn reduces the rate at which the iron and oxygen combine. The result here is a reduction in the rate at which the corrosion (rusting) cycle proceeds. This why we have been so successful in controlling corrosion in some of Australia’s most harshest condition, the Mining Industry, Surf Life Saving, Government and Council vehicles.

Heavy Duty 4WD |
This system is a single-coupler system designed to suit all relatively new 2 wheel drive vehicles as well as older ones that are not beyond helping. As good as this product is, it is not a miracle cure for badly rusted cars. On these old cars the best we can hope for is to slow down the inevitable by around 80%. |
The 4WD system is different from the vehicle system because it has 2 capacitive couplers that operate off 2 separate circuits. Unfortunately it is not possible to just add extra pads on to the 1 circuit. This system was designed to fully protect 34WD vehicles even when these vehicles are used for beach driving. |
The Heavy Duty 4WD System has four Capacitive Couplers and maintains a very strong pulse throughout the entire vehicle. Each coupler has its own circuit from the power supply, four couplers must have four circuits to be effective, it is not just one wire and four pads. |
